Collage students full of memory, some of memory create a very sweet thing in your life even though it sound stupid and foolishy . I still remember when I was a student in ITM where I have lot of friend from different state some of them are from Johor, Perak, Kedah, Melaka and others state in Malaysia.
One of the thing that student proud is about their state. I always claim that Penang is the best among the others state and same thing goes to my friend. So that, we often argued and make joke when we discuss certain issue.
One of the thing we always make joke is about the football match result (Malaysian League). Let said if Perak lost football match we all me make fun and joke to our Perakian friends.
I still remember there a match between Penang and Selangor at Darul Ehsan Stadium. My Selangor friend told me that Penang will get “telur ayam” and after that Penang State Gov will band forever football sports, when my friend from the other state heard about that they laughed and feel really enjoy. For me I feel ok because that is youngster life. The more they can laughed at you the more they happy.
So my reaction toward my Selangor friend is I told him that I will burn Selangor flag inside Selangor state if Penang win the game. All my friend were shock with my statement, some of them said that I try to cheated and some of them told me a can be terminated from ITM if I do that thing.
I told to my friend if I not doing what I mentioned , please don’t call me Rizal and you all don’t trusted me forever. When match between Penang and Selangor ended, Penang won 3-1 and my Selangor friend disappear that night.
All my collage friend were waiting a moment that I had promise. The next day my Selangor friend come back to his room. Everbody was calling me and told me that I have to burn the flag infront of the Selangor friend. All my collage mate were waited they want me to do something crazy.
I ask from one of my friend to give me a lighter them I go inside my room to take a Selangor flag. I make Selangor flag from A4 paper and I draw at the centre of A4 paper, it was very small. After showed to my friend I started to burn.
All my friend laughed and they were very enjoyed. Some of them said I thought you will burn real one (cloth)

I represented my boss to attend lunch in British Navy Ship HMS Glasgow, before attended the lunch I have to make a phone call for confirmation. During discussion with the ship agent, he told me many local are also invited for the lunch and I was very happy.
Lunch started at 1330 and I need to come early. When I was infront of the ship gangway one of the crew come and I gave him the invitation card . The crew accompany until I met Ship Commanding Officers at Captain Bridge.
When I was at Captain Bridge I very surprise because I didn’t see any local all of them Caucasian. I took long breathe and deep inside my hard I started to cursed the agent and I fell like to give him one big slap. At this moment I can fell time running very slow and l look opportunity to escape from the event.
At Captain Bridge I was chatted with ship officers and they ask me a lot about Penang. After a while one of them invited me to go to Mass Room. Once I entered Mass Room again I see all Caucasian some of them from Australia, British, Canada and American. Now I become a stranger in my own country.
Before started the lunch I go to Commanding Officer and whispered to him, I want to discuss something outside the Mass Room and he agreed. Outside the Mass Room I told him that I can have a lunch because I muslim. The Commanding Officer told me that food was prepare by local (Eden) and all Halal food.
He invited me go to long table and gave me a seat. All guest started eat and also chatted, menu for that afternoon is a tune fish, vegetable, pudding, fruits, soft drink and also red wine.
The food was good but my mood not very good. I heard their talked about Free Masson, Middle East Conflict and 11 September. Most of their opinion against with my thought . I have kind of feeling that all this people have “an etnocentrizem attitude” During lunch hour most of time I only observe and listen their conversation.
At the end of the lunch I fell relief because life will be back as normal. For me event thought I did not enjoy my lunch but it is one of good experience I had in my life. I will carry this memory forever.

In Malay sub cultures, we were exposed a phenomenon where our ancestor heritage belived of mystical being and also ghost. Therefore, in our life we are very familiar with the names of Hantu Raya, Pelesit, Langsuir, Toyol and etc.
Religion never deny the existences of these demon. We can reveal about them from Quran and Hadis, it mentioned this situation as black magic and demon (jin)
As a person that grow up in Malay society and culture . I also being exposed to this kind of belief. For me I have 2 types of thinking about this matter.
1)Childhood time was full of imagination, fantasy and play. Children are very easy to be influenced with this kind of stories. They can easily fear to anything because their imagination are very high and in same time they create their own world regarding this matter.
During my childhood time, I feared to ghost even though I had never see them in real life. The belief came because I trusted certain people such as my grandmother, parents, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Majority of us belief the ghost story but at the same time majority of us had never see this demon in real life. For me life is bored without fantasy.
2) Second opinion is the moral from this believed. When the old man said “ada hantu air” it mean that he doesn’t want his children to play by or in river @ sea. Most of the drowned cases are children. When they told that don’t play during noon time this is because he want their children to come back for lunch. If they said don’t walk during night it mean he don’t want children to go out during night time and etc.
I don’t have specific answer regarding this matter because in holy Quran God Said.
“Apabila mereka bertanyakan kepada kamu tentang alam roh, maka katakanlah itu urusan Tuhanmu dan amat sedikit ilmu yang di berikan kepada manusia tentang roh”
My conclusion is mysterious things will remain mystery. The more you create fantasy The more things will be mysterious.
